Mini Pumpkin Crafts
I love a good pumpkin craft, especially when it requires no carving and the kids can fully get into it.
I love all pumpkins, but mini pumpkins and gourds hold a special place in my heart. They are adorable and so easy to manipulate.
This year, I’m showcasing three different ideas that you can make yourself with materials you probably have lying around your home (with the exception of Mod Podge, but you can easily make your own instead of running out to the craft store).
Decoupage Mini Pumpkins
Ingredients:
pain brush or foam brush
small pieces of paper, fabric, or tissue paper
Mod Podge or recipe below
pumpkin (any size or color, but should be smooth)
Instructions:
Using Mod Podge, or the formula below, take each piece of material (we used tissue paper and fabric on each of the pumpkins shown here) and paint one piece at a time onto the pumpkin.
Repeat with each piece of material, overlapping the pieces as you go. Let dry for a few hours.
To Make Your Own Mod Podge
Mix 1 cup of glue together with 1/3 cup water. Use as you would any other decoupage or Mod Podge formula.
Frankenstein Mini Pumpkin
Ingredients:
mini pumpkin (any color)
green paint
2 thumbtacks
googly eyes
black marker
black paper
glue dots or hot glue
Instructions:
Paint the mini pumpkin with the green paint and let dry.
Add the googly eyes to the front of the pumpkin.
Push the two thumbtacks into the sides of the pumpkin towards the bottom.
Using the black marker, draw a mouth and stitches wherever you see fit. Your Frankenstein can be happy, sad, or scary.
Finally, cut a piece of black paper so one side is jagged for hair. Attach it with glue dots or hot glue to the top of the pumpkin.
Black Cat Mini Pumpkin
Ingredients:
mini pumpkin (I used a orange and green gourd, but you can also paint any mini pumpkin black)
googly eyes
pink paper
black paper
black pipe cleaner
scissors
glue dots or hot glue
Instructions:
Cut your pipe cleaner into smaller pieces measuring about 2 inches each to make 6.
Take your pink paper and cut out a small heart for the nose and two small triangles for the ears.
Take your black paper and cut out two slightly larger triangles than you did with the pink paper. Glue the pink triangles onto the black triangles to make the ears. Attach them to the top of the pumpkin using glue dots or hot glue.
Add googly eyes to the pumpkin’s face.
Using glue dots or hot glue, attach the pipe cleaner pieces to the pumpkin to make whiskers (3 on each side).
With glue dots or hot glue, attach the pink heart (upside down) in the middle of the pipe cleaners for the nose.
