Tissue Paper Flowers
Although these are super fun to make anytime of year, they are the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, which is on May 9 (hint hint).
You can make different types of flowers based on the way you cut the tissue paper so you can personalize it to your mom’s favorite color or bloom.
Ingredients:
tissue paper in different colors
scissors
pipe cleaners
pencil
floral tape
pom poms (optional)
glue dots or hot glue (optional)
Instructions:
Decide which flower(s) you would like to make. You will need to cut the tissue paper in different ways to make the
different flowers, a template has been provided.
Cut out the templates provided. Take 3-4 pieces of tissue paper and layer them one on top of the other. Place the template onto your layers of tissue paper. Trace around
the template and repeat until you reach the end of the tissue paper. Using your scissors, cut the template out of the tissue paper.
Take one pipe cleaner and one layer of your tissue paper. Start to wrap it around the end of your pipe cleaner. Holding it tight with your fingers, repeat this step until all of your tissue paper layers are on the flower.
Keep holding it tight! Using your floral tape, start to wrap the tape around the base of the tissue paper. Continue wrapping until the tissue paper is secure. If you would like to add a pom pom to the middle of your flower, take a glue dot and place it on the pom pom and stick it in the middle of your flower.
You can also make a spidermum by cutting fringe into your tissue paper instead of using one of the templates. Just make sure you do not cut through the bottom of the tissue paper or you will have confetti instead of a flower!
