Thankful Tree

Thankful Tree The Crafty Mommy

This was something I did more for me than the kids, but can easily be adjusted by using brighter, more colorful paper for the leaves. I created this thankful tree because I thought it was important to lead by example. I’m having my kids choose one thing they are grateful for everyday, I should do the same.

To make this I gathered branches from around the neighborhood, but them to the size of my chosen vase and attached paper leaves that I made with my Cricut machine with glue dots. I wrote something I’m grateful on each leaf and displayed this in our living room for all to see.

Especially during these uncertain times it feels not only cathartic, but necessary to outwardly show what (and who) we are appreciative of. How are you showing your appreciation this holiday season?

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Cut the tree branches and twigs to the size you want with shears.

  2. Cut or print the leaves you would like to use using scissors or your Cricut machine.

  3. Write what you are thankful for on each leaf with the markers. Note: I like to choose one color for this step, but if you’re doing this with the kids, feel free to let their creativity run wild. Glitter pens would also be fun here.

  4. Arrange the branches in the vase you have chosen so they look nice.

  5. Using glue dots, attach the leaves to the branches sporadically.
