Some of My Favorite Websites

We have all been spending a lot of time at home! And with that comes more free time with the kids and I don’t know about you, but I want to keep them busy and engaged, but don’t always know how to fill all of that time.

Here I’m sharing a few of my favorite sites that I have used for getting ideas and downloads (some free and some you pay for) to entertain and educate my kiddos.

I worked with this crafter/blogger at Martha Stewart and I love everything she does. Jodi has a talent for taking the most basic household items (coffee filters, paper towel rolls, paper) and she makes the most whimsical crafts and activities.

She has hundreds of fun crafts, most of which can be made with ingredients you have at home. They all come with easy to follow instructions and she provides templates when needed. Search by theme, by holiday, activity, or season.

think.make.share.com from Hallmark

This is a website I get a lot of ideas for my kiddos but I also get a lot of ideas for myself (like these t-shirt embroidery ideas). I have had my oldest make and use this pen pal starter, which has created hours of entertainment and education.

FosterandPartners.com

An architecture firm may not be your first idea of a place to go when looking for engaging activities for kids, but I absolutely love this build your own city idea from Foster + Partners. They have created these super cool templates for creating your own buildings, houses, and cities all you have to do is download, have your kids decorate, and put it all together.

teacherspayteachers.com

During quarantine, this is the website that got me through distant learning. When my children weren’t engaged in their lessons provided by our school district, I went here! I was able to find letter and number activities themed to all of my daughter’s favorite movie and TV characters and find more challenging worksheets for my son when it came to math and writing. There are also a lot of fun games.

boomlearning.com

My daughter is autistic and she has a gross motor delay with speech so this site has been a lifesaver. They have fun, educational, and special education-themed games and stories that are interactive. Some are free (which you can search by) and some you pay a small fee, but they are all engaging!
