Firework Artwork
We’re continuing to gear up for the 4th of July around our house and we have plenty of time to do that now that school is out for the summer.
We tried out two versions of firework artwork this week and loved both equally.
The first takes a toilet paper tube, scissors, and paint… so easy.
Ingredients:
finger paint in assorted colors (we used red, white, and blue)
paper plate for the paint
scissors
toilet paper tube
paper to paint on
Instructions:
Take your toilet paper tube and scissors and cut slits half way up from the bottom.
Fan the slits outwards to create the shape of a firework.
Dip the toilet paper tube into paint and stamp onto your paper.
The second version included sidewalk chalk and glitter pens. You can also use chalk pastels for this, which are more vibrant in color.
Ingredients:
black paper
sidewalk chalk in various colors (or chalk pastels)
glitter pens in various colors
Instructions:
Take your black paper and draw fireworks in various sizes using your sidewalk chalk. Really let the kids have fun with this.
To make them really sparkle, use your glitter pens to outline bits of the fireworks.
Let dry.
