Personalized Pencil Pouches
I made these for teachers at our school, however, you could easily change the designs to give as a Mother’s Day gift, as a special something to your kiddos with fun pencils inside, or to a friend.
Ingredients:
fabric paint
foam paint brushes in different sizes
paper plate
paper towel or paper
Instructions:
Start by sticking a piece of paper towel or paper inside the tote bag. This will keep the paint from bleeding through.
Squirt a little bit of whatever color paints you would like to use on a paper plate.
Using your foam brushes, dip it into the paint and then dab it either on an empty part of the paper plate or on a piece of scratch paper so you don’t have too much paint.
For the apples, I used a circle shaped foam brush and just stamped the apples down on the canvas. Then I used a smaller paint brush to add a stem and leaves. Let dry.
For the pencils, I used a larger foam brush for the yellow part and smaller brushes for the details. Let dry.
Other Design Ideas:
You could easily do cherries much like I did with the apples.
You could do rainbows.
Splatter paint is also fun, all you need is a bristle brush and I would recommend doing this in a box so it doesn’t splatter everywhere. Then you just add paint to your brush and flick it onto the canvas.
