Patriotic Bow

Patriotic Hair Bow The Crafty Mommy

We are gearing up for the 4th of July! And with that comes lots of fun projects, decorations, and dressing up to show our USA pride.

One of the first things I put together was this adorable bow for my youngest.

Ingredients:

  • red, white, and blue grosgrain ribbon

  • fabric (or sharp) scissors

  • barrette blank

  • hot glue

  • glitter paper

  • star template

  • scissors

Instructions:

  1. Start with the grosgrain ribbon. Cut two pieces of the ribbon that approximately 8-10 inches long with your fabric scissors.

  2. Take one piece and loop each end so it meets in the middle, glue to secure. Repeat with the second piece.

  3. Cut another smaller piece of the ribbon to wrap around the center of the two pieces you made in step 2, about 3 inches long.

  4. Stack the two pieces from step 2 so it makes a bow with 4 loops. Glue one side of the smaller piece of ribbon to the back of this stack. Then wrap the piece around the front and pull taught. Glue to secure. Note: I usually like to fold under the rough edge before I glue so it looks nice and neat.

  5. Take your regular scissors, a star, and your glitter paper and trace and cut out a star or two or three.

  6. Glue the star to the middle of the bow.

  7. Finish by glue the entire bow onto a barrette blank.
